What PostPilot Does

PostPilot is a Chrome extension that reads the content of a webpage when you click "Generate" and creates social media posts using AI. Content is processed in real time and is not stored.

Data We Collect

  • Email address — when you create an account (for authentication and usage tracking)
  • Usage count — the number of generations you perform per day (to enforce free tier limits)
  • Payment information — processed by Lemon Squeezy; we do not store credit card details

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Browsing history
  • Page content you do not explicitly generate from
  • Personal files or documents
  • Cookies for tracking or advertising

How Page Content Is Processed

When you click "Generate," the extension extracts the text content of the current page (title, body text, meta description). This content is sent to our API server, which forwards it to the Anthropic Claude API for processing. The content is used solely to generate social media posts and is not stored by PostPilot or Anthropic after processing.

Third-Party Services

Data Retention

Account data (email, plan status) is retained while your account is active. Daily usage counts are reset at midnight UTC. Page content sent for generation is not retained — it is processed and discarded immediately.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.

Chrome Extension Permissions

  • activeTab — to read the content of the page you are currently viewing, only when you click the extension
  • storage — to save your preferences and authentication tokens locally on your device
  • alarms — to reset the daily usage counter
